<p><span style="font-size:14px;">We&rsquo;ve all been there. You&rsquo;re out to dinner with friends at your favorite Mexican/Italian/Sushi restaurant and you&rsquo;re making the decision between indulging or choosing a menu option that&rsquo;s better for your health and fitness. Or you&rsquo;re in a pinch during the work week and you need to make a last minute decision as to where to get lunch on the go. It&rsquo;s easy to fall prey to many of the tasty options out there but it&rsquo;s also easy to stay on track. Thankfully, there are quite a few healthy options for you to choose from these days.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">Moxie has recently partnered with <a href="https://www.myfitfoods.com/"><span style="color:#ff0000;">My Fit Foods</span></a>, which offers healthy, on-the-go options any day of the week. Many of their meals include a whole grain starch, lean protein, healthy fat and colorful vegetables. Not only are these meals balanced in nutrients, but they are tasty as well. Portion control is also critical when eating out, and My Fit Foods helps the consumer choose just the right portion for their energy needs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">If you don&rsquo;t have immediate access to a My Fit Foods or a similar option, keep in mind these key principles when eating out:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Focus on lean protein, vegetables and healthy fats. The starch should form only &frac14; of your meal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Choose wisely. Ask how foods are prepared and modify as needed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Avoid foods described as creamy, cheesy, crispy, crunchy as they are usually high-fat options.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Watch your portion sizes. Ask for a to-go box in advance and package however much of your meal you estimate to be in excess of what you should be eating.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Don&rsquo;t eat out when you are ravenous. You are more likely to indulge in high-fat, high carb dishes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">-Don&rsquo;t use &ldquo;black or white&rdquo; thinking. You don&rsquo;t need to completely deprive yourself, but make the best option whenever possible. This means choosing whole grain options, avoiding empty calories and focusing on nourishing foods.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;">Use these tips to stay on track this triathlon season in order to enhance your fitness and health and cross the finish line in the best shape of your life!</span></p>

<p class="p1">Happy New Year from Toro Performance Nutrition! As we settle in to the new year and the novelty of new year resolutions wear off, I would challenge you to set three major goals related to fitness and health. With these goals, take the time to identify small steps needed to reach them. In other words, you establish a process rather than an end-point. For example, instead of setting the goal of switching from a more processed diet to a whole foods diet starting this month, you instead decide that by the end of this year, you will be eating a whole foods-based diet without any added preservatives and artificial or processed ingredients. Every month you tackle a different step along the way to reaching this goal. For example, in January, you eliminate artificial sweeteners and choose to eat out only one time a week at a healthier restaurant.&nbsp; Add a new step towards this goal in February and so on. Remember, we are all a work in progress. So enjoy the journey and make each day a new opportunity to work towards being your healthiest self.</p>
